ABOUT ME

I live in the South Downs National Park and constantly inspired by the landscape and the coastline and sea along the south coast.

I’m am fascinated by human emotions and relationships. I’m create abstract works that explore the human condition in all its’ diversity.

My landscapes and seascapes capture the elements; sun, wind, rain and the effect these have on the sky, land and the sea.
The mark making is spontaneous and I use various mediums to create work that is expressive,, energetic and atmospheric.
I often works by visiting the landscape a number of times, creating pastel and charcoal sketches to inform the final work. The larger scale paintings are completed in my studio. I may also work quickly and spontaneously in the landscape to capture the changing light and create a painting in one session.

My paintings are with private collectors throughout the UK, Holland, Australia and the U.S.
